Members of a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Onifade, Ayobo area of Ogun State and their neighbors on Wednesday could not forgive a young man for stealing the church fan. The man, simply identified as Dele, had the intention of selling the standing fan and using the money to buy garri, rice and palm oil.

One of the church members who had gone to clean the church in preparation for an evening program raised alarm when she saw Dele unplugging the fan and moving it out of the church. An  angry mob nearly lynched Dele for stealing the fan.

The thief was stripped naked and forced to put the fan on his head.

Dele and the stolen fan

Do you think Dele should have been forgiven, preached to and taken care of by the church instead of attempting to have him lynched?
